Privacy policy for balloon flight logs, pre-flight checks, and maintenance timelines

This Privacy Policy explains how HEMAR handles information for BalloonLog, a hot air balloon logbook utility for pre-flight checklists, flight records, maintenance timelines, telemetry counters, and operational reports.

Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the BalloonLog mobile application and related public information pages operated by HEMAR SP Z O O, referred to in this policy as “HEMAR”, “we”, “us”, or the “Service Provider”.

Overview

BalloonLog is designed as an aviation logbook, pre-flight checklist, flight logging, maintenance tracking, and reporting utility for hot air balloon pilots and ground crews. The Application is structured around operational records such as checklist items, issue flags, notes, signed checklist records, flight labels, takeoff and landing times, passenger counts, propane consumption values, wind and temperature notes, maintenance tasks, flight hours, inspection due dates, reports, and app settings.

The Application does not require registration, login, account creation, user profiles, passwords, or authorization to use its basic functionality.

BalloonLog is an operational documentation utility. It is not certified aviation compliance software, official regulatory reporting software, pilot licensing software, flight approval software, weather certification software, airworthiness certification software, or a replacement for certified aviation professionals, maintenance engineers, aviation regulations, manufacturer manuals, official inspection procedures, or pilot judgment.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

The Application does not collect, log, transmit, or store personal information on HEMAR servers when you download and use it. Registration is not required.

Records created inside the Application, including pre-flight checklist entries, flight log details, maintenance timelines, telemetry counters, reports, and settings, are intended to remain on your device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.

If the Application is used with an active internet connection, standard technical protocol data such as an ephemeral IP address may be transmitted by network infrastructure to facilitate connectivity. HEMAR does not retain that technical protocol data for tracking.

Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?

The Application does not collect precise real-time location information from your mobile device for HEMAR. If users manually enter launch, landing, weather, operational notes, or route-related details into their own records, those entries remain part of the local application data under the user’s control.

Do third parties see or have access to information?

Since the Application does not collect personal information for HEMAR, no personal data from normal app use is shared with third parties by HEMAR.

If the user contacts HEMAR directly by email or contact form, the information voluntarily provided is used only to respond to the request and manage the communication.

Data Retention

App records

HEMAR does not retain BalloonLog app records on its servers. Checklist records, flight logs, maintenance notes, reports, and app settings are intended to stay locally on the user’s device.

Voluntary contact data

If you contact HEMAR directly, your message and contact details may be retained only for as long as needed to respond, maintain business records, or meet legal obligations.

Because HEMAR does not collect or store personal app data through normal use, there is no server-side personal app dataset retained by HEMAR.

Data Deletion

You can delete locally stored app data by using the Application’s available local data controls, clearing app data through your device settings, or uninstalling the Application from your device.

If you voluntarily provided information to HEMAR by email or contact form, you may request deletion of that information by contacting support@hemar.ink. We will handle deletion requests as required by applicable law.

Because HEMAR does not collect personal information through normal app use, uninstalling the Application removes the local app environment from your device but does not require HEMAR to delete any server-side app account because no such account is created.

What are my opt-out rights?

Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, uninstalling it removes the Application from your device. You may also avoid sending voluntary contact information to HEMAR if you do not want HEMAR to receive it.

Children

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or such higher age as required by applicable law. HEMAR does not knowingly solicit data from children or market to them. Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s personal data is not collected by HEMAR through normal app use.

Security and Data Breach Notification

Because the Application does not collect personal data for HEMAR through normal use, the risk of personal data exposure from HEMAR-held app data is minimal. However, no security system is completely secure. HEMAR uses reasonable safeguards to protect systems and any information voluntarily provided directly to HEMAR.

If a breach occurs involving information you voluntarily provided directly to HEMAR, HEMAR will notify you as required by applicable law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

HEMAR may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by posting the updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date. Where required by law, HEMAR will seek consent before material changes take effect.
